Talented web designers, search marketing specialists, coders, web content writers, creative project specialists, Social Media experts and other online legal marketing professionals from across the country and abroad converged on North Carolina in the fall. The common force that attracted them all together: each is a member of the Consultwebs team.
The exceptional group of professionals met at the Embassy Suites Raleigh – Crabtree for an intensive four-day conference that focused on the latest industry trends, sharing best practices, developing strategies for growth, improving internal procedures and delivering outstanding results for the company’s law firm clients.
Already a close-knit team, camaraderie was further cultivated by ample opportunities for team members to socialize and take part in activities designed to reinforce professional bonds. Exercises included an elaborate problem-solving treasure hunt and a competitive cornhole tournament.
The annual event marked Consultwebs’ 7th conference during the online legal marketing company’s 16-year history. It was also the organization’s largest conference, with more than 40 attending. In addition to team members from the company’s Raleigh headquarters, the conference drew colleagues from as far away as California, Oregon, Minnesota, Texas, Arizona and even Brazil.
“The growth we have experienced over the years is truly astounding,” said CEO Dale Tincher, who founded Consultwebs in 1999. “What’s even more remarkable is how well this dedicated group of specialists work together, even though they come from a variety of backgrounds and bring a diversity of professional experiences. There is a true sense of family coupled with mutual respect.”
Highlights of the conference included:
There was even a test. After hours of feverish studying, team members demonstrated their skills on the demanding Law Web Aptitude Test (LWAT). The top performers on the test were awarded with some nice tech gadgets as prizes.
The team’s athletic prowess was also assessed during an intense competition that involved throwing beanbags at little boards with holes cut in them. The cornhole tournament pitted Tincher’s Blue Team against Executive Vice President Magnus Simonarson’s Black Team. The Blue Team again prevailed after a nail-biting playoff round between team leaders Tincher and Simonarson, and their teammates, Senior Marketing Consultant Michael Gardner and Vice President of Development Tanner Jones.
Attendees’ parting impressions of the overall conference indicated that it was a success, according to Tincher.
“I was very touched at the end when everyone was hugging each other and saying goodbye. I saw some sad faces,” Tincher said. “One team member summed up the feeling that most of us had when she said that at company conferences where she had worked in the past, everyone was looking at their watches and was anxious to go home. That wasn’t the case here.”
