Valerie has earned several degrees over the years. She received her Juris Doctor from the University of Arkansas School of Law (2014, magna cum laude), Master of Arts in Teaching from University of Arkansas at Monticello (2008), and Bachelor of Arts Degree from Hendrix College (2006). with a double major in Economics and Business and Spanish

Valerie grew up in Marmaduke, Arkansas. When she is not writing and editing, she enjoys baking, arts and crafts, going to escape rooms, participating in murder mystery games, traveling, and spending time with loved ones, including her Husky and Tabby cat.
