Hayes Bicycle Group Recalls Quick-Release Devices for Bicycles Due To Fall Hazard

Hazard: The quick release devices can unexpectedly fail or break when locked in position on the bicycle, causing the rider to lose control, which poses a serious fall hazard.

Description and Models: This recall involves the SunRinglé Hollow Quick Release Devices for bicycles and includes models Hollow CroMo Front 100mm, Hollow CroMo Rear 130mm, and Hollow CroMo Rear 135mm. These devices have hollow skewers. They were sold individually or with SunRinglé front and rear wheels with model names Black Flag, Disc o Flea, Charger, STR8 Track, Accelerator R3.00C and Accelerator T3.0C. “Ringlé” is stamped on the lever. Quick release devices with a solid skewer are not included in this recall.

Paintball Gun Adapters Recalled by RAP4 Due to Impact and Laceration Hazards

Hazard: The remote line adapter can burst when over tightened, posing serious impact and laceration hazards to consumers.

Description: The remote line adapter is used to connect a paintball gun to a pressurized CO2 tank. The adapter is a black cylinder and is attached to a black remote line cord. “RAP4” and the “SN” (serial number) are printed on the adapters.

RadioShack Recalls Power Supplies Due to Electrocution and Fire Hazards

Hazard: The recalled power supplies are wired incorrectly, posing electrocution and fire hazards.

Description: The recall involves RadioShack 13.8V DC Power Supplies, catalog numbers 22-507 and 22-508 with date codes from 08A04 through 01A08. Date code format is MMAYY where MM is the month and YY is the year. The catalog number and date code are located on the back of the power supply. Power Supplies with a green dot on the product and the product’s packaging have already been repaired and are not included in the recall.

Hazard: The snaps on these garments can detach, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Description: The recall involves two Taggies™ Sleep ‘n Play style infant garments sold in purple or blue and white with style number listed in chart. Children’s Jackets and Hoodies with Drawstrings Recalled by Coolibar Inc. Due to Strangulation Hazard

Hazard: The garments have a drawstring through the hood, posing a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines (pdf) to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets or sweatshirts.

Description: The recalled jackets and hoodies have a drawstring through the hood. They were sold in children’s sizes 2 through 12. The jackets were sold in the following colors: tan, stone, bayou blue, crisp blue, white, berry, and citrus. The hoodies were sold in teal, kiwi, mandarin, aloe green, paprika, hibiscus, smokey blue, white, sherbet, cobalt, and stone.

Dollar Tree Recalls Glue Guns Due to Fire Hazard

Hazard: The recalled glue guns can short circuit, causing the gun to smoke. This poses a fire hazard to consumers.

Description: This recall involves the “Crafters Square Hot Melt Mini Glue Gun” with product number “939701”. The gun dispenses hot glue and is intended for craft projects. The glue gun is black with an orange trigger and measures approximately 4 1/2 inches from the back of the gun to the tip. It has a 44-inch electrical cord attached. “Crafters Square” and “939701” are located on the guns’ packaging. “DS-010 Glue Gun” is written in raised letters on the handle of the gun.

A. O. Smith Recalls Water Pump Motors Due to Fire Hazard

Hazard: The water pumps with the recalled motors are labeled as containing a one-horsepower motor, but actually contain a 3/4-horsepower motor. Under certain conditions, the smaller motor could overheat, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Counterfeit Circuit Breakers Recalled By Specialty Lamp International Due to Fire Hazard

Hazard: The recalled circuit breakers labeled “Square D” have been determined by Square D to be counterfeit and can fail to trip when they are overloaded, posing a fire hazard to consumers.

Description: The counterfeit circuit breakers are black and are labeled as Square D QO-series models 115, 120, 130, 215, 220, 230, 240, 250, 260 and 2020 and Square D QOB-series models 115, 120, 130, 220, 230, 250, 260 and 1515. Actual Square D circuit breakers have (a) the amp rating written on the handle in white paint on the front of the breaker (authentic Square D circuit breakers manufactured prior to 2003 did not have white paint on the amperage numbers); (b) the Square D insignia molded onto the breaker side, and; (c) a yellow chromate mounting clip with half of the top of the clip visible. If your breaker, labeled as Square D, does not match this description, it could be counterfeit.

Hazard: On the recalled grills, the main burner does not fit correctly and does not connect properly to the gas valve which could result in a propane leak. This poses fire and burn hazards to consumers.

Description: This recall involves the Char-Broil gas grills with model number 463720108 and serial number ranging from 000001 to 000402. The gas grills have a main burner with two-burner plates, a 170 square inch swing-away rack, two side shelves and a condiment basket. Char-Broil’s logo is on the top of the lid of the grill. Battat Recalls Magnetic Construction Sets; Ingested Magnets Pose Aspiration and Intestinal Hazards

Hazard: Small magnets inside the building pieces can fall out. Magnets found by young children can be swallowed or aspirated. If more than one magnet is swallowed, the magnets can attract each other and cause intestinal perforations or blockages, which can be fatal.

Shims Bargain Recalls Pacifiers Due to Choking Hazard

Hazard: These pacifiers fail to meet federal safety standards for pacifiers. The pacifier shield is too small and could easily enter the mouth of an infant. The recalled entertainment centers are black with two lower miter-framed doors, two glass doors at the top, and CD storage racks. Old Navy Recalls Boys’ Jackets; Drawstring at Waist Poses Entrapment Hazard

Hazard: The jackets have a waist drawstring with a toggle that could become snagged or caught in small spaces or doorways, which can pose an entrapment hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines (pdf) to help prevent children from getting entangled on waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.

Description: The performance fleece-lined shell jackets are hooded, zip in the front, and have a drawstring at the waist. The jackets were sold in black or blue in multiple children’s sizes. “Old Navy” is printed on a label at the neck. Style number 507907 is printed on a white label sewn into the side seam of the jacket.

American Greetings Corp. Recalls Confetti Bursts Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard

Hazard: The surface paint on the individual bags of confetti contains excessive levels of lead, violating the federal lead paint standard.

Description: The recalled products contain confetti in plastic bags. When the bags are inflated, consumers squeeze the bag and confetti bursts out. Each package contains six confetti bursts.

Lazy Lounger Chairs and Recliners Sold at Dick's Sporting Goods Recalled for Collapsing Hazard

Hazard: The plastic support brackets can break and cause the chairs to collapse, posing a hazard to consumers.

Description: This recall involves the Lazy Lounger chair (Style # CEH00415), recliner (Style # CEH00320) and oversize recliner (Style # CEH00414, CEH00345, and CEH00443). Style numbers are printed on the packaging. The chairs have a mesh covering that attaches to a black or tan metal frame by a woven cord. The mesh covering is sold in: blue, orange, black, natural, burgundy, pink, white, green, red, khaki, and camouflage. A padded headrest pillow is sewn on to the mesh. Beneath the padded headrest are two tags. The first reads: “! WARNING !”, followed by 9 numbered statements, and “Made in China”. The second is the “Do Not Remove Under Penalty of Law” tag and includes the manufacturer’s Registration No: OHIO36462HK.

Description: The 2006 Snow Princess Stirrup Ornament is a stirrup-shaped ornament with a white prancing horse and blue ribbons. “2006” is stamped on the rim of the ornament. Children’s Full Zip Hooded Sweatshirts with Drawstrings Recalled for Strangulation Hazard By Bon-Ton

Hazard: The garments have a drawstring through the hood, which can pose a strangulation hazard to children. In February 1996, CPSC issued guidelines (pdf) to help prevent children from strangling or getting entangled on the neck and waist by drawstrings in upper garments, such as jackets and sweatshirts.

Description: The recalled hooded zip-up sweatshirts are for Boys 8-20 and were made under the “Burnside” brand. The sweatshirts came in boys’ sizes small, medium, large and X-large and have various designs on the front. The recalled models have “RN # 39209” printed on the tag.

“Power Bolt” Pitchbacks Sold at Dick’s Sporting Goods Recalled Due to Laceration Hazard

Hazard: The upper portion of the frame can collapse after both locking pins are removed, posing a laceration hazard.

Description: This recall involves the Power Bolt Y-Frame Pitchback and Y-Frame Ultimate Pitchback. The products’ Y-shaped metal frames have attached netting which will return a thrown ball to the user. The upper portion of the frame is adjustable to allow a variety of rebound angles.

Meijer Inc. Recalls Firepits; Product Can Tip Over and Pose a Fire Hazard

Hazard: The legs of the firepit can bend or snap off during use, causing the firepit to tip over and in turn the fire can escape. This poses a fire hazard to consumers.

Description: This recall involves the Grand Gourmet metal wood-burning firepits model FSQ279. The firepit is black, has four legs and two sparks guards on top. It measures 27 inches wide by 27 inches deep by 25 1/2 inches high. The model number can be found on the cover page of the product manual.

Miter Saws Recalled by WMH Tool Group Due to Laceration Hazard

Hazard: The saw handle’s switch can fail, causing the saw to smoke, spark, and trip circuit breakers, and disable the safety brake. The saw also can keep operating unless the unit is unplugged, posing a laceration hazard to consumers.

Hazard: The nipple can detach from the base, posing a choking hazard to young children.

Description: The recalled pacifier necklace has a 28-inch multicolored cord with a 3- inch plastic pacifier that comes in assorted colors. A hole at the tip of the nipple is used as a blow hole for the whistle. Hazard: Improperly installed fluorescent top lights in the presenter can overheat, posing a fire hazard.

Hobby Lobby Stores Recalls Halloween-Themed Baskets Due to Violation of Lead Paint Standard

Hazard: Surface paint on the bat, pumpkin and witch emblems attached to the baskets contain excess levels of lead, which violates the federal lead paint ban.

Description: This recall involves all 2007 Halloween-themed baskets with item number 5464201. The item number is located next to the price on the paper hangtag on the handle. The plastic baskets are either black or orange with two carrying handles. An emblem of a witch, bat or pumpkin is attached to each side of the handle. The baskets measure 3 inches wide by 6 inches long by 4 ½ inches deep.

Children’s Wooden Storage Rack Recalled By Jetmax International Following Child’s Death

The storage rack can tip over, posing an entrapment and suffocation hazard to young children.

CPSC has received one report of a death involving an 8-month-old boy who was asphyxiated after he pulled on the storage rack and it fell over on him. The top rail landed on the infant’s neck. No other incidents have been reported.

The storage rack is wooden with three levels and nine removable canvas totes. There are wooden handles on each side of the rack. The boy’s storage rack has natural color wood with red, yellow, green, and navy canvas totes. The girl’s storage rack has white colored wood with pink, yellow, lime, and purple canvas totes.

Wal-Mart sold the storage rack under the brand “Home Trend Kids 9 Canvas Bin Boy’s and Girl’s Organizers.”

Nike Recalls Football Helmet Chin Straps Which Can Break and Pose Risk of Serious Injury

Hazard: The chin strap’s plastic cup can break as a result of contact, exposing the player to facial or head injuries.

Description: The recalled football helmet chin strap consists of a plastic cup with a foam liner, straps and four metal snaps. They were sold in both youth and adult sizes and come in black/gray and white/gray color comb
