Health Care Financing Administration: The
federal agency responsible for overseeing Medicare and Medicaid programs and
assessing the quality of health care facilities and services and taking
appropriate enforcement actions.
Health-Care Provider: A person trained and
licensed to give health care. A health-care provider is also a place licensed to
provide health care. Examples include doctors, nurses, and nursing homes.
Homebound: When a person is generally
unable to leave home due to health problems.
Home Health Care: Generally, skilled
nursing care that a person receives in his or her home for the treatment of an
illness or injury.
Hospice: A place where the terminally ill
patients are cared for.
