- C -
Caloric Nystagmus: A vestibular system nystagmus caused by differences in temperature between the ears, e.g., one ear is irrigated with warm water and the other irrigated with cold water.
Cross Examination: The process of challenging the evidence presented by a witness, typically a police officer in these cases.
Continuation Without a Finding: A common outcome of an OUI plea. A CWOF is not technically the same as a guilty plea. You do not admit that you did anything wrong, but agree that there is sufficient evidence to find you guilty. If you get in trouble again, a Continuation Without a Finding will be used against you as a prior offense. However, you can truthfully say that you have never been convicted of a crime.
