Factum: CLE for Attorneys and Legal Professionals

factum was formed to fill a void in the online CLE world. Until now there was a lack of top-notch, professionally-produced legal technology and law practice management online CLE programming. Following Co-Founder Bob Timm’s success in the Continuing Medical Education field, Ross Kodner and Bob conspired to create a new online approach in CLE. Leveraging Ross’ extensive contacts in the CLE and legal technology worlds, the factum concept was born. Enter Grant Frautschi, a Madison video producer and entrepreneur, and the idea evolved into factum. They believe CLE can be educational and entertaining. Their focus is on providing lawyers and legal professionals with practical information that can be put to use in practice immediately.

All factum CLE programs use flash technology to process the video feeds. Additionally, each course includes accompanying PDF materials, and certificate of completion.

Ross L. Kodner, Esq., President

In addition to being a founding partner of factum, Ross is President and founder of one of the best known legal technology and practice management consultancies in the world, 21+ year old MicroLaw, Inc. He is a 1986 graduate of Marquette University Law School where he was a member of the Law Review. He has advised nearly 900 law firms and legal departments, helping them streamline their practices. A prolific CLE educator and author, Ross has delivered nearly 1500 CLE presentations and has authored over 400 articles on tech and law practice management topics.

Robert L. Timm, Executive Vice President

Bob's 25 year professional career includes many years as a news photographer and producer for major market television stations and for NBC network news in New York. His career began as a student at the University of Minnesota. Over the years he has worked for television stations in Green Bay, Minneapolis, and San Francisco. While at NBC, Bob covered many major news stories including the crash of TWA 800, 3 presidential campaigns, and the events surrounding 9/11. He contributed to reports for the Today Show, NBC Nightly News, Dateline NBC, and MSNBC. Bob has been honored with numerous awards for his shooting and producing skills including an Emmy.

Grant is a respected and experienced media professional, entrepreneur and prominent philanthropist based in Madison, Wisconsin. His company, Avid Alternatives, started in the early 1990’s when the idea of non-linear editing was in its infancy. Grant saw the future, seized the opportunity to embrace this new technology and has since become a pioneer in his market.
